Freiburg director of sport Jochen Saier has dismissed speculation that Ritsu Doan could leave the club in January.

Ritsu Doan’s future at Freiburg has recently been thrown into doubt, with a recent report from Sky Germany suggesting the winger could be on his way out in January.
However, speaking to DAZN on Sunday, Freiburg director of sport Jochen Saier insisted that there are no plans to offload the Japan international.
“A transfer in the winter will not and cannot be a topic for us: Ritsu has developed excellently and has performed consistently over many months,” he said.
“I would definitely rule out a move in the winter. We want to be as successful as possible this season. He’s an important factor in that”.
Doan has scored four goals and provided one assist in 10 appearances for Freiburg this season.
