Sky Germany reports that the loan of Bayern Munich full-back Frans Krätzig to VfB Stuttgart could be terminated in January.
The reason is simply that Krätzig is not getting enough game time at the MHP Arena. Since joining in the summer, the 21-year-old has only featured four times, twice in the DFB Pokal, once in the Bundesliga and in the DFL Super Cup. This has mainly been due to Krätzig playing behind Maximilian Mittelstädt, but in recent weeks, he has even fallen behind Ramon Hendriks in the pecking order with the centre-back deputising for the German international.
The decision to terminate the loan is not concrete yet, as things may turn around between now and January, but it is becoming more of a possibility. Stuttgart are still performing on three fronts, in the league, the DFB Pokal and the Champions League and with Mittelstädt regularly featuring for Germany as well, Krätzig may get his opportunity.
In his debut for the club, Krätzig put in a strong performance against champions Bayer Leverkusen in the Super Cup, even providing an assist for Deniz Undav’s goal in the 2-2 draw.
