New winter signing Younes Ebnoutalib will be unavailable to Eintracht Frankfurt for the next few weeks, several reports suggest.

According to Bild, the 22-year-old has suffered a partial tear of the medial collateral ligament in his knee.

Sky Germany later confirmed this afternoon that Ebnoutalib can expect a spell of four to six weeks on the sidelines.

The cruciate ligament area is not affected, so the worst fears have not materialized for the young marksman.

Ebnoutalib went down in a challenge with Jeff Chabot during yesterday’s 2-3 defeat against VfB Stuttgart and injured his knee.

After the match, Dino Toppmöller feared a serious injury. It is not yet clear how long the striker would be sidelined for.
