Donny van de Beek is expected to return to Manchester United following a disappointing loan spell with Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Dutch midfielder has endured another underwhelming period despite being expected to reignite his career after joining Frankfurt on a short-term loan at the start of the year.
Things haven’t gone as Van de Beek would have hoped though. Starting in just four Bundesliga games, it is clear the former Ajax starlet is not part of Dino Toppmoller’s plans, and consequently, according to journalist Christopher Michel, the 26-year-old, who could be signed for just €12 million, is set to head back to Old Trafford.
Man United transfer news: What next for Donny van de Beek?
Out of contract with the Red Devils in less than 18 months, Van de Beek continues to face an uncertain future, and although he is unlikely to continue with United, another loan move is on the cards before he becomes a free agent in 2025.

The midfielder’s decline can be traced back to his decision to leave Ajax in 2020. Despite being one of the sport’s most highly-rated playmakers, Van de Beek has seen his career nosedive after failing to convince any of his managers he can make it in any of Europe’s big leagues.
Struggling for game time and seeing his confidence knocked, it has been hard to witness the midfielder’s downfall.
Despite being one of his country’s most relied upon players, the 26-year-old now hasn’t played for the Netherlands since March 2021.
