As confirmed by the Bundesliga club, Eintracht Frankfurt has signed Ferencvaros’ teenage attacking midfield talent, Krisztián Lisztes, despite the closure of the transfer window last week.
Lisztes, still just 18 years old, will join Die Adler for the 2024/25 campaign on a five-year deal running until 2029. He will continue with the Budapest club for the remainder of this campaign, which will, like his new employers, involve a Europa Conference League run after Hungarian league champions Ferencvaros were grouped with Fiorentina, Genk, and the Serbian club Čukarički.
Lisztes, who won’t turn 19 until next May, can play through the centre as a number ten or on either flank. He has already scored twice in three league games for Fradi this season, contributing to his total of seven goals and two assists across just 767 minutes of senior football over 21 appearances for the Hungarian side so far.
Upon the transfer’s announcement, Frankfurt sporting director Timmo Hardung explained that he was excited to see the teenager’s “intensity, dynamism, and direct and indirect goal threat” in a Frankfurt shirt next year.
