In the 62nd minute the powerhouse midfielder has come up with the goods to draw Ivory Coast back level with the Super Eagles. A brilliant corner delivery from Brighton star Simon Adingra sees Kessie meet the ball at the far post to head home into a gaping goal.

The hosts have well and truly dominated this final but they have struggled to breach a resolute Nigeria defence. Meanwhile, Nigeria’s star attack have not yet had a sniff having registered just one shot on target all game.
