Bayern Munich confirmed on Saturday that Kingsley Coman would be sidelined for several weeks after sustaining an adductor injury during their 2-0 win against FC Köln.
With five games in the Bundesliga remaining, it’s likely that the Frenchman’s season is over with focus now on being fit for Euro 2024. Saturday’s game was just the third time that Coman was back in the Bayern Munich squad after returning from three months out with a knee injury, and now the 27-year-old has to spend more time on the sidelines.
Per BILD, Bayern expect a maximum downtime of around six weeks but Coman remains confident that he will be fit for France’s European Championship campaign.
Bayern Munich face difficult Arsenal test
Thomas Tuchel faces a selection headache ahead of their Champions League clash against Arsenal on Wednesday. With the tie level at 2-2, Tuchel will not only be without Coman, but Serge Gnabry is also sidelined for the foreseeable future. Leroy Sané also missed Bayern’s game at the weekend, but should be fit enough to feature against Mikel Arteta’s side, while Alphonso Davies is suspended.
