Bayer Leverkusen’s 19-year-old talent Florian Wirtz has been attracting attention from all around Europe since he began playing for Die Schwarzroten‘s first team. To little surprise, Bayern Munich are interested in snapping up the young German, but as reported by Mundo Deportivo, FC Barcelona are now looking into the possibility of incorporating Wirtz next year.
The Blaugrana have been in contact with Wirtz’s agent and the club are searching for a prolific, incisive attacking midfielder, and the young talent is looking to take a leap forward in his career.
However, the monetary aspect may place a roadblock in the path of Barcelona’s plan. Wirtz is under contract until 2027 with no release clause so the Catalans will have to negotiate a transfer.
Considering the player is currently valued at €70m, Joan Laporta and his financially strapped side may struggle to meet Leverkusen’s demands.
