According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, FC Augsburg striker Florian Niederlechner will move to Hertha Berlin when his contract expires in June.
As per the report, the player’s consultant told Sky: “I can confirm that Florian will continue his career at Hertha BSC when the contract ends in June.”
The forward has featured heavily for Augsburg this season and has made 16 appearances from which he has scored five goals and assisted twice. Niederlechner has been on the books at Augsburg since 2019 and a move has looked likely for a good few weeks now.
Previous reports believed that Hertha has already been in contact with Niederlechner but such stories hadn’t been confirmed. It now appears that there was some truth in the rumours.
Niederlechner will be keeping a close eye on Hertha and be hopeful that they can stay in the Bundesliga. Currently in 15th spot on 14 points, they sit just below Augsburg. The two sides will meet in February where they could still sit near the bottom.
