According to Bild, after Borussia Mönchengladbach’s 2-1 loss to Augsburg midfielder Florian Neuhaus is looking for alternative club options.
The 26-year-old has become unhappy with his playing time at the club under Gerardo Seoane and despite suspension to vice-captain Julian Weigl, Neuhaus was still looked over in the Gladbach starting 11 as Seoane chose a midfield duo of Manu Koné and Rocco Reitz.
The player’s management are now looking for alternatives this winter with a loan move being more likely but if Gladbach receives a bid of more than €15m, they will allow Neuhaus to leave. Previously, Lazio and Sevilla have shown an interest in the 26-year-old.
However, Gladbach director Nils Schmadtke is against letting the midfielder go in the winter: “No! Flo is part of this team! After his substitution, he also showed exactly what we expect from him: energy! He gave the team something, conquered balls, that was a good reaction from him.”
Neuhaus signed a three-year contract extension at Gladbach in the summer that did not include a release clause but the rise of Reitz in Gladbach’s midfield has forced Neuhaus out of the team.
