Fiorentina are now close to signing Florian Grillitsch on a free transfer.
Fiorentina made contact with the entourage of Grillitsch some days ago and it seems as if they have made some progress to sign the midfielder, whose contract with Hoffenheim has expired.
Gianluca di Marzio has stated that a new meeting between the player’s agent and Fiorentina is expected tomorrow and it will definitively close the deal for the midfielder. His agent arrived in Italy today and he will stay in Florence to hold talks tomorrow.
The Austrian is expected to sign a four-year deal worth €2 million per season and La Viola see him as the perfect player to reinforce the midfield, with Lucas Torreira likely not re-signing from Arsenal. The Florence-based side failed in their attempts to sign the Uruguayan, as Arsenal didn’t budge from their asking price after the midfielder’s impressive performances during the 2021/22 campaign.
