As reported by L’Équipe on Thursday, FIFA had taken the decision to fine Liigue 1 side OGC Nice €100,000 (plus interest) after they came to the conclusion that Le Gym had to compensate Ivorian side RAC Abidjan, a club with whom the INEOS-owned club used to be partnered, for the sales of Ange Ahoussou to Pau FC and Jean M’Guessan to FC Metz who were both sold in the 2023 summer transfer window.
FIFA did, however, state that it could not rule on the unilateral decision to end the partnership between the clubs in December 2023. However, the fine issued by FIFA has now been revoked, as L’Équipe have reported. This is because Nice have brought to the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). As the case is now being treated by CAS, FIFA cannot issue a sanction and the €100,000 fine issued is no longer valid.
