According to RMC Sport’s Bernard Latour, Real Madrid left-back Ferland Mendy (28) is set to be included in Didier Deschamps’ squad to represent France at EURO 2024. The full squad is set to be announced by the boss of Les Bleus on Thursday.
The Real Madrid full back’s hopes of being included were boosted following the season-ending injury suffered by PSG defender Lucas Hernández who is normally a regular for Les Bleus. However, it now appears that Mendy should be included in the squad to represent Les Bleus in Germany.
Potential first appearance for 2 years
Despite being a regular for Real Madrid, Mendy has been quite often on the periphery of Deschamps’ squads or struggled with injury which has ruled him out of contention. The former Lyon full back has only made 9 appearances for Les Bleus. With his inclusion set to be confirmed, Mendy looks set to make his first appearance for France in almost two years at EURO 2024.
