Turkish club Fenerbahçe have raised their contract offer to Real Madrid striker Mariano Díaz as they bid to sign him, report AS.
Mariano, who is not in manager Carlo Ancelotti’s plans for next season, has taken the initiative to find a suitable destination. While Getafe have shown interest, Fenerbahçe have increased their offer as they attempt to secure the services of the 28-year-old.
Fenerbahçe have reportedly met Mariano’s wage demand of €5 million per year, having added bonuses to their initial proposal of €4 million. They’ve offered him a two-year deal with the option to extend for a third year. Representatives of the Turkish club are talking to Mariano’s representative, David Aranda, to persuade the player with the increased contract offer.
AS report that the striker is at the top of Fenerbahçe manager Jorge Jesús’ shortlist.
Mariano only played 11 games across all competitions for the European champions last season, scoring only once.
