Ruhr Nachrichten and Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung report that Felix Nmecha will cost close to €25m as the midfield edges closer to a move to Borussia Dortmund.
Nmecha is expected to earn close to €6m at Dortmund while the transfer will likely cost €25m. Negotiations between Wolfsburg and Dortmund still need to take place over the transfer fee for the 22-year-old. Nmecha had previously rejected a contract extension at Wolfsburg which would have included a pay rise.
After previously meeting with manager Edin Terzic, Nmecha has also held a meeting with Dortmund’s BVB Managing Director Hans-Joachim Watzke and President Reinhold Lunow.
The meeting convinced Watzke of the transfer of Nmecha who was previously not an advocate for the transfer of the midfielder. The 22-year-old is seen as the successor of Jude Bellingham who has joined Real Madrid.
The transfer of Nmecha is seen as controversial amongst Dortmund fans as the 22-year-old has previously shared homophobic content and transphobic content by US political commentator Matt Walsh. Nmecha continues to face disapproval for this and has previously come out with an apology.
