The hitherto unnamed loan destination of RB Leipzig’s Hugo Novoa Ramos is, according to two sources, FC Basel. The 19-year-old attacker gets set to receive tutelage from former Borussia Dortmund professional Alexander Frei in the Swiss border city. Sky Germany and Swiss news portal “nau.ch” presently report this information.
Sky’s German outfit further notes that Novoa will extend his current working papers with the German Red Bulls (good through 2024) before the loan deal is completed. A contract extension is evidently necessitous given that, also per Sky, Novoa will be heading south on a long-term 18-month-loan.
Novoa has made a total of 15 Bundesliga appearances in his young career. The teenage talent netted two goals off the bench over the last two seasons. Leipzig have made no secret of their desire to park the €5 million talent in a loan locale at which he can secure more playing time in the long run.
