Yann Sommer has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich in recent days, with reports claiming that the Gladbach goalkeeper is keen to step in to replace long-term injured Manuel Neuer at the Bavarian club.
Nevertheless, Gladbach coach Daniel Farke insists he expects his first-choice goalkeeper to stay beyond January.
“I assume that he will play here in the second half of the season, yes,” Farke told reporters on Friday.
Sommer’s contract with Gladbach expires at the end of the season.
