FA Cup Fifth Round Draw in Full (2026)

England’s oldest cup competition, the FA Cup, has long been one of the most entertaining events on the British sporting calendar, and this year’s tournament has not disappointed so far.

Already, we’ve witnessed one of the all-time great upsets, with Macclesfield beating Crystal Palace 2-1 in the third round. The Silkmen were then rewarded with another Premier League tie, as they will play Brentford tonight. The winner of that game will make it into the fifth round, with a game against West Ham United to come.

There was plenty of drama in the fourth round, too. That was helped by a lack of VAR in the FA Cup, which saw numerous mistakes benefit Aston Villa, although Newcastle United eventually turned things around to win 3-1. There will, however, be VAR used in the tournament from now on.

As we head to the business end of the competition, Wrexham, Mansfield Town, Norwich City, are the only non-Premier League teams to have made it this far – with Port Vale or Bristol City playing tonight to confirm their spot, and the aforementioned Macclesfield also hoping to advance.

As such, there are a few big-name match-ups for the fifth round, with the glamour tie likely being Newcastle vs Man City, although Wrexham’s game against Chelsea will also catch the eye.

Check out the full draw.

In a repeat of the League Cup semi final, Newcastle United will come up against Manchester City. Eddie Howe’s men were soundly beaten 5-1 across those two legs, so the Magpies will hope to do better in this one-off fixture. Pep Guardiola’s men have their eyes on a quadruple, but might not be delighted with an tricky away trip to St James’ Park added to the calendar.

The other notable tie is Chelsea trip to Wrexham. The Championship side beat Nottingham Forest in the third round, before then squeezing past Ipswich Town. A result against the Blues would certainly make for some big headlines.

Elsewhere, Arsenal had a kind draw and will expect to win away at League One outfit Mansfield Town. Liverpool will also be favourites for their visit of Wolverhampton Wanderers.
