Contrary to reports, Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi (35) didn’t have an argument with manager Christophe Galtier during Tuesday’s training session at the Camp des Loges, but instead withdrew after feeling discomfort in his adductor, according to sources contacted by Get French Football News.
Reports had surfaced of a rift between Messi and Galtier, with the Argentinian leaving PSG’s training session early. However, according to sources contacted by Get French Football News, Messi asked to leave the session early after feeling some discomfort in his adductor. It is not clear if the discomfort will rule him out of Sunday’s game against Stade Rennais at the Parc des Princes.
In a pre-match press conference earlier today, Galtier confirmed that talks over Messi’s contract extension were underway. The Argentinian’s current deal expires at the end of the current, and Les Parisiens are keen to retain the world champion. RMC Sport reported yesterday that an agreement in principle has been in place for the last few weeks, although some details are yet to be worked out.
