Alex Pereira returns to the Octagon on Saturday for the UFC 307 main event against Khalil Rountree Jr. at Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Though the fight seemed to come out of nowhere, it keeps Pereira active as the UFC lands a fourth date in 11 months for one of its biggest superstar fighters. Elsewhere, the Brazilian kickboxer has been linked with fights against Dricus du Plessis at middleweight, Tom Aspinall at heavyweight, and even Jon Jones.
Pereira’s countryman, the super featherweight world boxing champion Robson Conceicao, told GIVEMESPORT this week that he regards the UFC light heavyweight champion to be so strong, and so powerful, that he pretty much has the beating of everyone on the UFC’s roster — including Jones, should they ever fight.
Conceicao was speaking ahead of a fight of his own as he gets ready to star on a Top Rank card on ESPN+ against O’Shaquie Foster at Turning Stone Resort in Verona, having fought a who’s who of top tier fighters including Oscar Valdez, Shakur Stevenson, and Emanuel Naverrete.
