Ex-Man Utd, Chelsea & Villa ace Sancho receives offer from Getafe

Jadon Sancho has been offered a chance to revive his career after leaving Manchester United.

According to talkSPORT, the former Aston Villa and Chelsea flop has received an offer from Getafe to join the La Liga side on a free transfer.

The former England international has been without a club since leaving United at the end of last season, when his contract at Old Trafford expired.

Almost four months later, the 26-year-old still has no takers. But Getafe are now ready to take the plunge and offer him a chance to rebuild his once-promising career.

The winger and his representatives are now discussing the offer before making a decision. Sancho spent five years at United after joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2021.

However, it proved an ill-advised move, and he ended up spending most of his United career on loan spells at Dortmund, Chelsea, and Villa.

Fortunately, he won silverware at Chelsea. He scored five goals and assisted 10 in 41 games across all competitions and won the Europa Conference League under Enzo Maresca.

He failed to build on that performance during his subsequent loan spell at Villa, scoring just once in 39 appearances across all competitions last season.

However, he was still part of the team that won the Europa League before returning to United. He was linked with a move to Qatari side Al-Rayyan over the summer, but the move never materialised.

Getafe are now extending an olive branch as they look to bounce back from a difficult start to the new La Liga season after winning just two of their opening eight games.

They recently brought in Real Madrid legend Dani Carvajal on a free transfer and are hoping to bolster their attacking options by signing Sancho.

Getafe are also preparing for their Conference League campaign.

They begin their European journey away against Universitatea Craiova on Thursday, with Brighton & Hove Albion due to visit next month and a trip to Ajax scheduled for December.
