La Liga outfit Espanyol are actively working on a deal for a member of the attacking ranks at Serie A giants Napoli.
That’s according to transfer insider Matteo Moretto, who points towards Walid Cheddira as the player in question.
Frontman Cheddira, for his part, is fresh off a productive campaign last time out.
After linking up with the aforementioned Napoli from Bari in the summer of 2023, the Moroccan international was swiftly farmed out on loan, to fellow Serie A outfit Frosinone.
And Cheddira, to his credit, went on to enjoy a solid season, notching eight goals for a Frosinone outfit who were eventually relegated back to Italian football’s 2nd tier.
Not expected to play a prominent role for a new-look Napoli outfit this coming term, the possibility therefore exists that the 26-year-old could be sent out on another year-long loan.
And, as alluded to above, one outfit looking to take advantage of as much are La Liga returnees Espanyol.
As per a report from Relevo’s Matteo Moretto:
‘Espanyol are working on the loan of Napoli striker Walid Cheddira.’
