Last season, Emran Soglo (18) made the break into Olympique de Marseille’s first team. The versatile left-footer, who played largely at left-back for OM last season, but who is capable of playing in left-midfield and in central midfield, joined Les Phocéens from Chelsea at a young age, however, L’Équipe understands that he could now leave the club.
Soglo made 14 appearances for Marseille last season, scoring once and registering one assist. However, the England U20 international’s contract with the Ligue 1 side expires at the end of next season. Currently, there is no agreement over an extension and as a result, a departure this summer is now being considered.
Two European sides show interest in Soglo
Sensing an opportunity, two clubs have shown concrete interest in signing Soglo this summer. L’Équipe understands that in recent days, Serie A side Hellas Verona and Eredivisie side FC Utrecht have both shown interest and are discussing a potential move for the Englishman, whose three-year stay at the Vélodrome could be set to come to an end.
