With his current contract set to expire this summer, Borussia Dortmund captain Emre Can is reportedly close to signing an extension.
According to Sport Bild, the 31-year-old is on the verge of penning a new deal that would keep him at the club until 2028.
His annual salary of around €9 million is expected to remain largely unchanged.
Can hasn’t always been an undisputed starter at Borussia Dortmund, but the former Liverpool player is said to be highly respected by both his teammates and the club’s management.
Having spent nearly six years with BVB, Can has made 212 appearances for the club, tallying 21 goals and 12 assists.
