Eintracht Frankfurt defender Tuta has suffered an injury to his ankle during the team’s last test match in Dubai, according to Bild.
Frankfurt were only 9 minutes into their match against Polish side Lech Posen when Tuta fell to the ground with no one around him. It’s reported that the Brazilian twisted his ankle on the uneven surface.
The 23-year-old was later seen watching the final minutes with an ice pack around his ankle. He was later taken to hospital for further scans. It’s not yet clear how serious the injury is or for how long the defender will be missing.
If the injury keeps Tuta sidelined for a moderate amount of time, head coach Oliver Glasner may look to the transfer market for defensive reinforcements. Currently 4th in the Bundesliga, the eagles will have to maintain a solid backline if they want to achieve Champions League football next season.
