Both Sky Germany and Bild report that Eintracht Frankfurt’s move for Rafiu Durosinmi has fallen through after issues arose during his medical.
Durosinmi is currently recovering from a knee injury. Initially, it was not viewed as serious but the medical at Frankfurt brought up an issue that contributed to the deal falling through.
Frankfurt had originally agreed to pay €10m but the issues brought up in the medical meant that they believed that the agreed fee would not be appropriate. Overall, for the price of the striker, Frankfurt believes it is not worth the money for the move. Currently, the move is on hold as Durosinmi’s club Viktoria Plzen is currently uninterested in renegotiating a deal.
Frankfurt will have to now look for other alternatives to fill the striker position especially with Omar Marmoush travelling to the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt. One option is former VfB Stuttgart striker Saša Kalajdžić, who could potentially return to the Bundesliga on loan as he has struggled for game time at Wolves.
