Bild reports that Eintracht Frankfurt will demand around €90-100m for striker Hugo Ekitiké in the summer as clubs from abroad begin to show interest in him.
Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle have all been linked to the 22-year-old this season, and with Frankfurt being Frankfurt, they will demand a fee much higher than the €80m first reported.
If Ekitiké is to leave Deutsche Bank Park in the summer, Frankfurt will demand between €90-100m for him. The rise in the price tag is because the 22-year-old has continued to get better since the departure of strike partner Omar Marmoush to Manchester City in the winter.
In 42 games this season, Ekitiké has 20 goals and eight assists as Frankfurt currently sit third in the Bundesliga and are in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
On top of this, Ekitiké’s fee is related to the price tag that Newcastle United placed on Swedish striker Alexander Isak. The 25-year-old is also valued at €100m, and as Ekitiké is three years old, Frankfurt sees this as a fair valuation. If Frankfurt qualifies for the Champions League and wins the Europa League this season, the asking price for the 22-year-old will be even more justified.
die Adler have made a name for selling strikers for large amounts of money. Marmoush joined City for €75m, compatriot Randal Kolo Muani is Frankfurt’s biggest sale, joining PSG for €95m, Luka Jovic joined Real Madrid for €63m, and Sebastien Haller moved to West Ham for €50m.
Ekitiké could be Frankfurt’s first-ever €100m sale, this would put him as the third most expensive Bundesliga departure after Ousmane Dembelé joining Barcelona and Jude Bellingham’s move to Real Madrid.
