Dino Toppmöller and Niko Kovac announced their first lineups of the new year as Eintracht Frankfurt entertain Borussia Dortmund. The two Champions League sides will resume the league action after a three-week winter break.
Younes Ebnoutalib gets a starting nod on his debut, while fellow winter signing Arnaud Kalimuendo could feature off the bench. Frankfurt granted Ellyes Skhiri a break despite Tunisia’s early exit from the African Cup of Nations, while Farès Chaïbi is with the Algerian national team. As Toppmöller confirmed earlier, Kaua Santos returns in goal in place of Michael Zetterer.
Similarly, Ramy Bensebaini is preparing for Algeria’s quarter-final clash on Saturday against Nigeria. Dortmund’s defense is also weakened due to Aarón Anselmino’s muscle injury. Karim Adeyemi ended 2025 with chaos, and he lost his starting place. Maximilian Beier will start alongside the in-form Julian Brandt and out-of-form Serhou Guirassy instead.
