Eduardo Camavinga has played in numerous positions for Real Madrid and France, including as a No 6, No 8 and left-back.
Didier Deschamps said that the 20-year-old was being called into the France squad as a left-back, but Camavinga recently explained that he still doesn’t feel it’s his best position.
The versatile Real Madrid man spoke to French outlet Canal Plus after Madrid’s 2-0 win over Chelsea in the Champions League and was asked if he enjoys the left-back role, to which he responded, “No, not yet. The most important thing is to help the team. But no, it still isn’t my position.”
With the reigning European champions, Camavinga has performed well in the No 6 role and his energy and ability to run with the ball means he can fit easily into the No 8 position. His ability to play in the pivot is a nice problem for Carlo Ancelotti to have as it provides competition for Aurélien Tchouaméni.
Camavinga will miss tonight’s La Liga clash with Real Sociedad due to suspension.
