Eden Hazard gave an interview to L’Equipe, in which he talked about his time at Real Madrid.
During the discussion with the French newspaper, which also appeared on Mundo Deportivo, he revealed that he believes his time at Real Madrid has been a failure:
“I see my time [at Real Madrid] as a failure. It was not normal to have so many injuries and I was never able to show what I could do. For me, I didn’t really win the Champions League. I played some games, like in the round of last 16 in Paris, but as it happened in La Liga, I had no impact.
“At Chelsea I was always the best and at Madrid I only had good games with Zidane. We spoke when he left, he was sad for me because it didn’t go as I expected,” he added.
Hazard also briefly discussed his relationship with Carlo Ancelotti:
“With Ancelotti I haven’t spoken much, just once, five minutes at the start of the season. I never speak much with my coaches anyway, I’m not one of those who goes to talk to them to see if I have to do this or that.”
