Eddie Hall Calls Out Conor McGregor After Quick Win in MMA Debut

On Saturday the 26th of April, 2017 World’s Strongest Man winner Eddie Hall made his professional MMA debut, fighting for Polish promotion KSW. On paper, Hall was faced with an incredibly tough test in his debut, as he was matched up against a very experienced fighter called Mariusz Pudzianowski, who has been fighting in MMA since 2009 and has faced off against several famous names such as Bob Sapp, Butterbean and former UFC heavyweight champion, Tim Sylvia.

Despite going up against a tough and experienced veteran, Hall completely obliterated Pudzianowski in just under 30 seconds after catching him with a big right hand and swarming him with devastating ground and pound strikes. Although Hall’s MMA debut was against a man in Pudzianowski who was of a similar weight to him, the Brit is now eyeing a fight against a completely different style and size of opponent, who he would be almost 200lbs heavier than.

Eddie Hall Would Entertain an MMA Fight Against Conor McGregor

Hall believes the fight would be “dangerous” for ‘The Notorious’

Despite having competed in a super heavyweight bout for his professional MMA debut, 2017 World’s Strongest Man winner Eddie Hall is very open to the idea of facing Conor McGregor. The day before Hall brutally knocked out Mariusz Pudzianowski at KSW 105, he uploaded a Q&A to his YouTube channel, and one of the questions he was asked was if he would ever want to fight the former two-division UFC champion, and surprisingly he said yes.

Hall said the following on his YouTube channel:

“I would love to fight Conor McGregor. I think the weight difference would be absolutely comical. There is weight classes for that reason. There is weight classes for that reason.”

As Hall mentioned, for the sheer spectacle alone of seeing Hall, who is 6’2 and well north of 300lbs, face off against McGregor, who is 5’8 and is probably walking around at 190lbs nowadays, but when in camp and in fighting shape, has a natural fighting weight of anywhere between 155lbs and 170lbs, could make it an intriguing prospect for mainstream audiences.

Although Eddie Hall won his professional MMA debut in emphatic fashion in just 30 seconds, he didn’t come away completely unscathed. During his post-fight interview after defeating Mariusz Pudzianowski, the 2017 World Strongest Man winner revealed that in the process of unleashing strikes on the ground, his hand broke.

Hall suffering such an injury means that if there was even a slight chance of a fight against Conor McGregor of happening, it certainly wouldn’t be able to take place any time soon as he will have to wait for his hand to heal. The timescale for Hall’s recovery is unknown at this point as it is not yet clear whether or not he will have to undergo surgery.
