Following Mathys Tel’s loan move to Tottenham in the winter transfer window, Harry Kane is the only natural number nine in the Bayern Munich squad.
Discussions have centred on whether Bayern made a mistake by letting Tel leave after Kane picked up a calf injury in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Celtic, leaving the England captain a doubt for Sunday’s Bundesliga clash with Eintracht Frankfurt.
However, Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl believes the Bavarians have plenty of options to replace Kane should the need arise.
“We have enough strikers,” Eberl insisted in the mixed zone after Bayern’s draw with Celtic.
“Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman came off the bench, they both turned the game around and played a part in ‘Phonzie’ [Davies] scoring the goal,” he added.
Kane has started all but four of Bayern’s games in all competitions this season.
