The latest social media activity on the part of the Bundesliga heavyweights Borussia Dortmund has piqued widespread attentions.
This comes after BVB responded to their Champions League exit at the hands of Barcelona with a good luck message to their opponents.
Dortmund were of course back in action on the continent last night, welcoming La Liga table-toppers Barca to Signal Iduna Park for the 2nd leg of the quarter-final tie between the clubs.
When all was said and done on the evening, Niko Kovač’s hosts emerged on the right side of a 3-1 result.
After being put to the sword by four goals to nil in the tie’s opener, though, Dortmund were nevertheless sent packing from the Champions League.
And as much, as alluded to above, has since given rise to a warm exchange between the sides on social media.
First, Barcelona took to ‘X’, to write:
‘You’ve made it very difficult for us; you’ve been a great rival. Good luck for the rest of the season, and we’ll see you next time.’
And Dortmund soon took to the comments section of the post, to respond:
‘Go win this thing’
