Following the signings of Niklas Süle, Nico Schlotterbeck, Karim Adeyemi, Borussia Dortmund reportedly want to bring another German international to Signal Iduna Park.

According to Sky Germany, ‘Die Schwarzgelben’ are keen on Hoffenheim left-back David Raum, who they were first linked with back in April.

There has already been contact between the parties, and the interest is mutual, but the player’s price could prove to be a stumbling block, per the report.

Raum joined Hoffenheim from Greuther Fürth on a free transfer last summer and signed a contract extension in January, comitting himself to the club until 2026.

Sky claims that Raum has a release clause of more than €30 million – a fee that Dortmund can’t afford to pay at the moment.

In order to raise funds for the signing of the 24-year-old, Dortmund could offload the likes of Raphael Guerreiro, Nico Schulz and Manuel Akanji.

Should it prove impossible to get a deal over the line this summer, BVB will surely keep Raum on their radar, having identified him as the future at the left-back position.

Raum enjoyed an impressive first season in the Bundesliga, racking up three goals and 13 assists in 32 league games for Hoffenheim through the 2021/22 campaign.
