Speaking ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s away game against Hamburger SV, head coach Niko Kovac provided a squad update at a press conference on Friday.
As Kovac revealed, Ramy Bensebaini is a slight doubt due to a back problem, while a late decision will be made on Julian Brandt, who missed Wednesday’s 4-1 defeat to Manchester City with a muscle issue.
On the positive side for BVB, Niklas Süle is set to return to the squad.
“We haven’t trained yet, but we’ll do so after the press conference. As far as I know, everyone is okay. Ramy (Bensebaini) has some problems with his back. (Niklas) Süle is back after fully recovering from a toe injury. We’ll test ‘Jule’ (Brandt) in training today and see if he’ll be ready for tomorrow,” said Kovac.
If Bensebaini is rested, Aaron Anselmo is likely to step in as his replacement.
