Done Deal: Lucas Hernandez set to complete transfer from Bayern Munich to Paris Saint-Germain

Lucas Hernandez has touched down in Paris to undergo his medicals before completing his blockbuster switch from Bayern Munich to Paris Saint-Germain.

According to Marca, the 27-year-old defender will become a new PSG player within the next few hours, with Les Parisiens expected to shell out €50 million to close the operation.

Hernandez will sign a three-year contract at the Parc des Princes, even though PSG fans recently attempted to talk him out of joining their club.

Heavily linked with a move to the French capital over the past few months, the versatile defender has encountered a brutal response from the PSG fanbase after the news of his move first surfaced.

Born in Marseille, he has never played for a French team, but his origins have given Les Parisiens supporters enough reason to protest against his arrival.

However, the Atletico Madrid academy graduate has decided to proceed with his original plan to join the record-time Ligue 1 champions following an injury-hit campaign at the Allianz Arena.

Hernandez picked up a season-ending injury at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, missing out on the remainder of the campaign as Bayern hauled back Borussia Dortmund’s slender lead to defend the Bundesliga title.

Despite being a first-team regular since arriving from Atletico for a club-record fee of €80m in 2019, the France international has had a falling out with the Bavarians chiefs.

With the Frenchman heading towards the exit door, Bayern are expected to announce the signing of Napoli’s Kim Min-jae.

Negotiations between the parties are in the final stages, with Hernandez’s imminent move to PSG expected to unlock the South Korea international’s switch to Munich.

Manchester United and Manchester City were interested in landing Min-jae earlier in the summer, but the Bavarians have seemingly come out on top of this transfer race.
