US President Donald has issued a strong response to this year’s Super Bowl half-time show after Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny’s eye-catching performance.
Bad Bunny – the world’s most-played artist in 2025, according to Spotify – made history at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, by becoming the first musician to perform a Super Bowl half-time show entirely in Spanish.
While the 31-year-old, real name Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, was expected to make a political statement during his performance, he instead chose to send a message of American unity. A message on the big screen read: “The only thing more powerful than hate is love.” Watch the clip below:
Bad Bunny also held an American football with the message “Together, We Are America” written on it.
Trump Slams Super Bowl Half-Time Show
While many Americans – alond with viewers in many other parts of the world – hailed Bad Bunny for his Super Bowl performance, Trump was less than impressed. The president, who missed Sunday’s NFL season-finale because it was “too far away”, described the half-time show as “absolutely terrible” and a “slap in the face to our country”.
Trump wrote on his preferred social media platform of choice, Truth Social: “The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence.
“Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World.”

Trump added: “This “Show” is just a “slap in the face” to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day — including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History!
“There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show and watch, it will get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD — And, by the way, the NFL should immediately replace its ridiculous new Kickoff Rule. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
Prior to the Super Bowl, Trump labelled Bad Bunny and pre-game performers Green Day as “terrible choices” for America’s biggest annual sporting event. He told reporters: “I’m anti-them. I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible.”
