After spending the 2021/22 season on loan at Real Sociedad, Alexander Sørloth will be given a chance by head coach Domenico Tedesco at RB Leipzig.
On whether the Norwegian would be given an opportunity, Tedesco said: “I think so. He’s our player and he belongs to us. We’re looking forward to coming back, we’ll train and talk to him. He deserves it.”
Sørloth scored seven and created one in 42 games in all competitions for Real Sociedad last season. The 26-year-old joined RB Leipzig for €20m but struggled in Germany, scoring six and creating three in 37 games before moving to Spain.
Speaking to reporters, Tedesco said he was also “very relieved” to hear that Christopher Nkunku had signed a contract extension with the DFB Pokal winners until 2026.
The Frenchman contributed 54 goals (35 goals, 19 assists) for RB Leipzig last season. Nkunku stated that his story with the Bundesliga club isn’t over yet, despite concrete interest from Manchester United.
