The scheduled appearances of Le Havre AC and FC Martigues before the Direction Nationale du Contrôle de Gestion (DNCG) have been postponed until June 24, according to Paris-Normandie and La Provence. Originally set for mid-June, the hearings were pushed back at the request of the two clubs, each dealing with financial and structural concerns.
In the case of Le Havre, the delay is linked to a potential change of ownership. The club is reportedly the subject of interest from Blue Crow Sports Group, a multi-club ownership vehicle that already holds stakes in CD Leganés (Spain) and several other teams. While discussions continue, club president Jean-Michel Roussier is believed to favour a delay in proceedings to avoid multiple DNCG hearings in the event of a completed sale by current owner Vincent Volpe.
Meanwhile, the situation at FC Martigues appears more precarious. Despite the club reportedly preparing both a National (third tier) and Ligue 2 budget, serious questions remain about its financial viability. Sources suggest the club is struggling to provide necessary guarantees to operate even in the third division. Concerns over unpaid wages have resurfaced, despite recent public reassurances from the club’s sporting director.
Martigues were hit with a provisional administrative relegation at the end of last autumn and now face a critical hearing that could confirm that punishment. The club’s leadership is scrambling to provide the DNCG with a viable path forward as the 2025/26 season looms.
The DNCG has announced plans to tighten its oversight during the summer of 2025, a sign that fewer clubs will escape unscathed if their books are not in order. For both Le Havre and Martigues, the postponed June 24 hearing will be decisive.
