Diego Moreira (20) is set to join RC Strasbourg Alsace permanently this afternoon, according to a report by Le Parisien. Moreira has already arrived in Strasbourg where he has completed his medical, all that is left is for the player to put pen to paper and sign his contract.
Moreira will be hoping for a more successful spell in France than his previous loan to Olympique Lyonnais last season. The Portuguese winger only made 10 appearances for Lyon before being recalled to his parent club.
Diego Moreira’s deal provides Strasbourg more flexibility
Unlike his soon-to-be former Chelsea teammates, Caleb Wiley (19) and Andrey Santos (20), Moreira will likely be announced as a permanent signing, allowing the French club to have a bit more flexibility in the market as they can only register three of their sister club’s players on loan.
This could mean that a loan agreement for Chelsea’s Djordje Petrović (24) is still in the works for the French club. Especially with the team in need of a goalkeeper following Matz Sels’s (32) deadline-day exit from the club back in February.
