Cash-strapped La Liga giants Barcelona have on Friday been offered a potentially significant boost on the financial front.
This comes by way of a bid for an up-and-coming member of the club’s defensive ranks.
The player in question? Mikayil Faye.
As per a report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Ligue 1 outfit Stade Rennais have tabled an opening proposal to the Camp Nou brass for stopper Faye.
The offer in question comprises a fee in the region of €10 million, accompanied by a significant sell-on clause of between 20 and 25%.
Barca, for their part, have to date made clear that they are only open to Faye’s sale in the case of a buy-back clause being included in any agreement.
It therefore remains to be seen whether or not the Rennes board are amenable to as much.
It is also noted by Romano that interest in the 20-year-old’s signature is widespread, with Deco and the Barcelona transfer team, as a result, unlikely to be in a rush to sanction a deal.
