It seems that faith has caused the destinies of Lorenzo Pellegrini and Davide Frattesi to potentially collide amongst one another as the possibility of a swap deal between Inter and Roma begins to brew within the pot.

Il Messaggero reports, via ForzaRomainfo, that it is becoming increasingly evident that the Giallorossi skipper is no longer considered within the plans of the club going into next season given his failure to find consistent form as he only amassed two goals and one assist in 23 games played within the league. 

With the 28-year-old’s contract expiring in the summer of 2026, Roma are exploring opportunities to offload the central midfielder in the summer market to avoid losing him on a free transfer further down the line.

The Roman journal notes with Davide Frattesi on the verge of parting ways with Inter due to a lack of playing time since arriving from Sassuolo over two years ago, a swap deal involving both players could blossom into reality.

Roma have been intrigued about having the academy graduate return to the Stadio Olimpico since last summer. Intense contacts were made in the winter window, but Inter shut down the move given the lack of time to find an adequate replacement.

With the 25-year-old facing grave difficulty in cracking coach Simone Inzaghi’s starting eleven as he only made a total of seven starts for the Nerazzurri in the Serie A, a potential swap deal is an idea that could favour all parties, though talks and contacts remain extremely premature.
