VfB Stuttgart have confirmed that Ermedin Demirović has returned to their UEFA Europa League squad to face AS Roma at 21:00 CET this Thursday.
The Swabians submitted a notification to UEFA so that the 27-year-old striker can replace Nikolas Nartey for the trip to the Italian capital.
When Demirović was injured in October 2025, the Cannstatt club subsequently called up Nikolas Nartey to their Europa League squad.
Nartey featured against Fenerbahce and Go Ahead Eagles, but was unused substitute against Feyenoord Rotterdam and Maccabi Tel Aviv.
After a period of 60 days, the original injured player is allowed to return to the squad – taking over from the player who had replaced him.
Meanwhile, Bilal El Khannouss is suspended due to yellow card accumulation and won’t be available to Sebastian Hoeneß.
The Moroccan received a yellow card in the sixth Europa League game against Maccabi Tel Aviv – his third in the current competition.
