Demba Ba has joined the mass exodus at Le Havre AC, as per a report from L’Équipe. The former Newcastle United and Chelsea centre-forward was appointed as the club’s sporting director over the summer.
Ba joined Les Ciel et Marines back in June following a successful stint as sporting director at Ligue 2 club USL Dunkerque. However, just four months later, he has opted to leave, L’Équipe understands.
It comes just two days after Le Havre decided to part ways with Didier Digard. The Frenchman, at the time of his sacking, was the second-longest-serving manager in Ligue 1, behind only Paris Saint-Germain’s Luis Enrique. The decision was made after a 5-1 defeat to PSG over the weekend. It left Le HAC with just two points from their first nine games and bottom of the table.
Against the decision to sack Digard, president Jean-Michel Roussier took the decision to resign over the weekend, and the Normand club may now find themselves without a manager, a sporting director, and a president. Blue Crow may now have quite the job to rebuild the club mid-season.
