After an initial season on loan at Bologna, Stefan Posch left Hoffenheim in 2023 to join the Italian Serie A side on a permanent basis for a reported €5 million.
Now, according to Sky Germany, the centre-back is set to return to the Sinsheim club on loan for the remainder of the season, with the deal including an option to buy.
Official confirmation of the transfer is expected shortly, with only the final details to be ironed out.
The Austria international has slipped down the pecking order in Italy this season, making a total of 20 appearances for Bologna.
