Unlike Bayern Munich who have already extended Thomas Müller’s and Manuel Neuer’s contracts, Sport Bild reports that a decision on Marco Reus and Mats Hummels’ future will be made later in the season.
Both Reus and Hummels’ contracts expire at the end of the season after signing one-year extensions last season. At the moment both of their futures are completely open.
Hummels has played well enough to justify an extension at Dortmund as this season he has shown that he is still a key piece in their defence and has been one of their best players in the first half of the season.
While recently, Reus has reportedly been leading a revolt against head coach Edin Terzic and the future of the 34-year-old may heavily rely on whether Terzic is around or not. This season under Terzic, Reus has seen himself demoted to the bench more often and is no longer the influential player he used to be due to his age as well as his reduced game time.
