A fresh insight into the shortlist of managers being drawn up by La Liga giants Barcelona as potential successors to Xavi has today been provided.
The info comes courtesy of Barca insider Gerard Romero, who points towards a trio of tacticians as leading the race to take up the reins in Catalunya’s capital beginning in the summer.
It is of course now common knowledge across Spain that Xavi’s position in the Barcelona dugout is no longer secure.
As much comes after a round of comments laid out by the 44-year-old during a midweek press conference left Joan Laporta and the Blaugrana hierarchy nothing short of furious.
Now taking into serious consideration a change on the bench for next season, the hunt for Xavi’s replacement has in turn begun.
And, today, an insight into the leading names behind the scenes at the Camp Nou as things stand has been forthcoming.
As per the aforementioned Gerard Romero, speaking for Jijantes, Barcelona’s shortlist features just three names – Hansi Flick, Thomas Tuchel, and Rafael Márquez.
Roberto De Zerbi, who on Saturday announced his departure from Brighton & Hove Albion, on the other hand, is not currently being taken into consideration.
