David Raum is closing in on a move to RB Leipzig from Hoffenheim with a move expected to be finalised at some point this week, according to Sky Germany.
Hoffenheim want a base fee above €30m but RB Leipzig would like to remain just below that. A total package to sign the Germany international left-back is expected to be between €30m and €35m.
Domenico Tedesco’s Leipzig moved quick to secure the signing of Raum (24), who had interest from Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, Newcastle United and West Ham – the player had a preference to remain in Germany, despite significant interest from the Premier League and talks between the two clubs are in the advanced stages.
Raum joined Hoffenheim on a free transfer from Greuther Fürth last summer and has a contract with TSG until 2026, but with no European football this season, a departure is now likely. During his maiden season in the Bundesliga, Raum created 13 goals.
