RB Leipzig have confirmed that Dani Olmo will miss the next few games with a knee injury picked up in Spain’s friendly against Georgia on Friday.
After being substituted in the European Championship qualifier, Olmo returned to Leipzig earlier this week to have a scan on the injury, which confirmed he had injured his knee.
The Spaniard will now miss the next few games so the race is on for Olmo to be fit for Leipzig’s game against Bayern Munich at the end of the month.
Olmo has started the season off strongly with two goals and one assist in his first three Bundesliga games, while also scoring a hat-trick in Leipzig’s 3-0 win against Bayern in the Super Cup.
With Leipzig’s next few games not that difficult, it will allow Benjamin Seško to earn a spot in the starting 11 while it will also give Xavi Simons the majority of the creative burden.
