On Saturday, Barcelona were without Dani Olmo for the second successive matchday. The 26-year-old, the club’s big-money signing from RB Leipzig, has still yet to be registered with La Liga. Club officials had hoped to have it done before kick-off, but it was not to be.

As reported by Diario AS, Olmo and his entourage are becoming increasingly frustrated with Barcelona’s inability to secure his registration. Given that the Catalans play their third match of the season on Tuesday against Rayo Vallecano, there is a small turnaround from Saturday’s victory over Athletic Club, which decreased the chances of the Euro 2024 winner being available at Vallecas.
Hansi Flick admitted that the situation is out of his hands, and it’s the same for Olmo. That does not stop either from becoming annoyed about the situation, and you especially cannot blame the latter.
Clement Lenglet’s impending move to Atletico Madrid could generate the salary space required to secure the registration, although if not, he will almost certainly not play for Barcelona against Rayo.
